1. COLOR IS EVERYTHING

Here is a list of suggested colors (of course play with them, but just a general idea)

  • Navy blue
  • Burgundy
  • Mustard
  • Black
  • Cream
  • Pale blue
  • Pastel Pink
  • Denim
  • Olive

2. BE COMFORTABLE

playing off of #1, the second tip is to wear something that is an enhanced version of your personal style. It is important for your outfit to reflect your own style, rather than a look that is completely foreign for you. For example, if you’re a casual chic kind of girl, stay true to that. While there are exceptions to the rule (e.g. concept shoots, boudoirs, etc) it is best to wear something that feels like YOU. In addition to that, honor the occasion by wearing a more polished version of your everyday look/personal style. If your man insists on wearing a baseball hat, encourage him to wear a basic black hat, rather than his favorite camouflage hunting cap. Avoid showing up in wrinkled clothes and dirty sneaks. That’s not a good look for anyone!

3. DRESS FOR THE WEATHER

With 1&2 in mind, remember if we are shooting in the winter, don't wear a skirt and a sweater with nothing else. You will get cold, and you will turn purple. You also will just look out of place. Same with summer. Don't wear a full suit with a jacket and tie or a long sleeve top just because it looks nice. You will sweat, BIG TIME and everyone will know it. Make adjustments, roll sleeves, and lets get this party started!
